Since the days of the Silk Road, traders have bought and sold unique goods from exotic frontiers of the planet, transporting them to new markets, managing transport and risk, all in the entrepreneurial quest to seek newfound fortunes. The goods may have changed, transportation may be by bulk or container vessel now, rather than camel back, and the exchanges of London, New York and Shanghai may have replaced the souks and bazaars of what was Constantinople, Samarkand and the Fergana Valley, but pricing risk, operational hazards and the advantages of a global network and effective marketing remain much the same.
It became increasingly clear there is a chasm of experience, ability, and even understanding of the potential extra value obtainable by bridging the gap between those working or investing in, the building, developing, and commissioning of mines into production, and those working in, or interested to develop more insight into, the commercial and trading sector, who procure and market these materials, and manage the transactions through its lifecycle across the globe.
Primarily focused, but not exclusive to, the Base and Precious Metals sector, Red Steppe bridges this expertise, enhancing value, in boutique structures that suits its clients, whether as a consultant in a direct operative role ingrained in the business, with wide remit to the company’s development and growth strategy, to advisory services on specific transactions or organisational operational and corporate structure.
For the production side, Red Steppe can provide services around the commercial understanding in the marketing of materials, offtake advisement, and structuring and operational expertise, from building out entire marketing, operations and sales departments, joint venture structures enhancing the return to mines for their product, and Agency marketing models as desired.
On the Trading and commercial side, Red Steppe can provide bespoke services for the corporate and commercial build out of trading departments, along with understanding and development of trade finance banking structures, advisement on Origination, transaction structuring, operations, hedging techniques, offtake procurement and trade strategy.
In summary Red Steppe can work with your group, standing by your side at mine site, at your corporate headquarters or representing you with your counterparts in any corner of the globe, working every step along the way in all areas of corporate, commercial, strategy and operational aspects, of the marketing, operations, purchasing and sales, with execution from mine site to end receiver or smelter, adding extra value and understanding to your group.
